Tang Soo Do History
Tang Soo Do is a Korean martial art incorporating fighting principles from subak, as well as northern Chinese kung fu. The techniques of what is commonly known as Tang Soo Do combine elements of shotokan karate, subak, taekkyon, and kung fu.

Kwang Jang Nim Hwang Kee studied Korean Subak and Taekyon for several years starting at the age of 7. He also read many books based on the fighting arts.
​
KJN also traveled to northern China where he studied with a chinese master named Yang. KJN returned to Korea and in 1945 founded the first Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan school.

Master Peter J. Desorda (Sunim Sa Bom Nim) is a 5th degree black belt and has been involved in the martial arts for over 40 years.

Master Desorda comes from Central Vermont, where he owned and operated a full-time Tang Soo Do school for 10 years.
